The NILF stuff definitely helps. I try to use that mode of thinking for everything with her. If I have a day or two hat I slip with it I definitely notice a difference.
I think this one is just naturally pushy enough to continue testing the boundaries. I'm sure it will get better with time, she's just coming into the tough part of adolescence.

I got the same thing going on here, so at least it is not abnormal behavior, right? Just 1 year old girls trying to have having fun. I always feel better knowing that I'm not the only one...
I have felt a lot better about our situation since finding this board, and more specifically you and Maggie. They really are alike some ways.
I have never had a dog like Tasha. As wild as the other dogs in my life could be, they were downright sedate and submissive compared to her.
They also were not as smart. She will test me and try things that never in a million years would have ever occurred to them. Sometimes I wonder if she is smarter than me!
Also, I have never raised a dog from a puppy. I never realized how much it can be like living with a wild animal at times. I think we are doing well, though.

I will not presume to have enough knowledge to offer advice, but I will refer to a trick from the puppy dvd. Ed suggests taking a cotton ball saturated with Bitter Apple and placing it in the dog's mouth 2x a day for 3 days. Then, you take a little of the Bitter Apple in a spray bottle with water and spray where you don't want the dog to chew, climb, etc. So maybe you could try this and spray your hands with the Bitter Apple?
I forgot, you have to hold the dog's mouth shut for a full minute.
