I took Ripley to a lure coursing trial on Saturday. They sometimes let non-sighthounds run after the trial is over.
In talking to folks there I learned that the UKC is going to create a lure course title for non-sighthounds. I can't find anything about it on the UKC web site. Anyone heard of this?

I have not, but I'll be interested to hear what you find out - Ridgebacks are big coursers, but for some redonk reason ridgeless RRs are disqualified from competing for titles - they can only participate in the "fun runs" that Ripley is able to do (the logic is that a DQ is a DQ, and if the ridgeless isn't up to snuff for the conformation ring, they don't get a chance at coursing titles either)... I don't get it though - coursing is an instincts and ability test, and similar to OB and agility titles, any dog with aptitude for it should be allowed to compete for honors, no?
We ran my late JRT on a greyhound course once..he tore it up and knocked their sox off....If this had been around when he was alive I would have done it in a heart beat!!!
How cool!
