Pretty sure that CCW is legal in Indiana; carrying as Will described is something I will be checking into, as the other laws pertaing to this.
How do you like it there, after this state of Indiana!! Change of scene has to be Good!!
& Thank You for: "you handled it QUITE well, IMO--good for you"
I Owe the biggest Thanks to Leerburg & this Website!!!
theresa, TBH, last time i went back to IN, i got claustrophobia due to all the frickin' TREES!! it was one of the weirdest sensations i've ever had.
out here, i LOVE it--wide open spaces, and where i live, i don't have to worry about a-holes, loose dogs (though the occasional stray--but i know where they come from), idiots, etc. even when i take Ike into town/football games/the fair i haven't ever been bothered. even in Omaha.
one reason i have NOT moved.
scott and ram are both correct--if you encounter a number of people in YOUR daily routine that are apt to be idiots, then you must be proactive in defense of your dog and yourself. and DO NOT walk up to a-hole and engage him in ANY kind of conversation!! get your CCW and carry!
Gets too bad and we will just have to do what my FIL does...moves to a smaller town. His criteria are that it only have low taxes, one gas station, one grocery, preferably dirt roads and good fishing but be driving distance to good antique and gun shows.
You folks have it figured out. It's density of human population that best predicts problems like this one.
Does your FIL need a farmhand?
You WANT to live in South Dakota? They are in a bit bigger town now.....both need medical facilities to be closer in their old age. They just left Carrazozo, New Mexico.
Ann....but you have Tornadoes in Neb. I like NY. As a friend says, not counting the every 20 yr hurricane....we get snow, you shovel it.
