Hi I'm french so my righting is not good...sorry.
I have a 1 1/2 years old american bulldog .Look exacly like in the movie with the golden and the cat.The dog has a firm calm grip .
Comes into my harms and like it alot.
No problem with the out.
Focus in obidience is good
Not problem with big noise or difrent enviroment
.But my problem is!!
should I continue to the sleves and later in defences....?
Hears why.
In civil agitation he gets stress fast and looks confused and wants to bite my pents.+When I play with him and he is happy he get's crazzy and wants to bite
the cat ,kids cloths or shoes.Probably to play?
After meeting
pepoel and being peted and liking them
(when he get calm )
his lips go up and tail down when pepoel wants to pet him.+looks at them in the eyes.
I got him at 5 monts of age and the dog
didn't trust any body or obeyed .Now he is fine I have controle but what it's problem. One more thing if I tried to move him from or to a place and tuch him when hid moving he crowls!or if I tell him to go
in the house or to is cage he stands their until I say it twice.
clumzy dominace or anxiaty(scared). No more coker
I'm getting a prong collar and try to be more
firm so he understands his place in the pack.
So help me guys he has alot of prey drive...look like a good protection dog to obey and bite but can he get more confidant or he has to be last dominant.
Hi Im fairly new to the board as well but you might want to read Eds article on a Dominate Dog.
It sounds like you need to get him under control before it gets worse. He is at the age of maturity and dominance tends to become a problem when they start to mature.
You said you are going to get him to learn his place in the pack... whatever you do, no matter who gives you the advice, dont attemt to alpha roll him. This can end badly... IMO. just follow Eds advice and if you have any more problems mabye e-mail Ed directly to see what he advises.
I had a problem with my puppy growling when I would crate him... my problem was I was being to nice and had to show him whos boss, havent had anymore problems, but Ed told me to read his article on dominance. Hope this helps.
