I have a jack russel mix and he is full of energy. I was wondering if any of you that have jack russels would mind telling me some of the tips you have learned about your dog and training. I have been training Cody for 2 years now. Once he gets excited it is hard to bring him down to earth. What works for you and your dog?
without much outside stimulation, he can get over excited and once that happens, it is hard to get his attention. When my husband comes home from work the dogs go to their mat and wait for my husband to call them to him. He gets so excited he runs around a few times before hitting the mat. I am feeling a little discouraged today and would love some input from others who have a jack russel. (He is a great dog and obeys me quickly when he hasn't entered into the twilight zone) He is neutered and about 3 years old. He is a rescue. Thanks for the help. Sharon

My granddogs are Border Terriers (same kind of craziness). Exercise exercise exercise. And exercise.
This mean structured exercise, of course; frolicking alone or with the other dogs in the yard isn't on the list.
Tell us what his daily schedule is like. Also, does he get a walk or game of fetch or something in the period just before your husband comes home?
PS
I empathize. Even retired now, at 9 and 13, my granddogs are crazy-dogs.
