Totally depends on the drives, intellegence & temperment of the dog, not the gender & the trainers ability to train. My dogs have taught me as much as I have taught them.

yeah makes sense..i have a shitzu and there has been a few times when i thought she should be dead...but i reacted very quickly. Crazy thing is it happens in the blink of an eye... like out of left field...most serious injury that drew a little cut on her lip. but since taking all toys away. and no on the couch or bed, hasnt been a fight this year....But Meeka is also a much more happy dog now that i spend tons of time with her......
- See if i can get this question answered quickly. I thought Meaka was fine. but i was just in the yard and while trotting back she was biting at her hip like she had a flea or itch...as in last night...she then set down and went to digging at her hip with her mouth....maybe she has gotten some fleas since working in the field...Or is this a common sign if her hip is bothering her. Not once has she wimpered or anything and begs me to go out. should i keep doing what im doing or what....i dont want to hurt her...but maybe im over reacting... i am the worrying type.

It Steve is out there....the ball under the chin was very helpful. Actually it was exactly what i was wanting. im not going to start anything new until i get her checked by the vet and will try to minimize her running which will be tough/

I hope so to Steve...This evening right before dark we went out and she seemed fine....I gave her aspirin a couple hours before we went out and everything seemed good. On the face do you use a command for that. i havent been. I just put the ball under my chin. She comes right up and sits. I take a step back. She comes back up and sits and i mark and reward. i couldnt remember it you use a command on the front face or whatever you guys call it. the whole time she maintained contact. Loud truck, motorcycles going by....she did good. Great technique you shared with me

Guys I think I found the breeder that I'm going to go with thanks to Dennis. The more we thought about it, the more we realized that Brush Creek has some good dogs, but its not what we are after. Or what I'm after. Only problem is, they are 20 hours away. I dont know the whole process of picking out a dog when its that far away. I'm guessing i fly up there and check it out? I also found a good Schutzhund club. Air Capital schutzhund club of wichita. We will see how it all pans out, there still might be a closer breeder ...but this lady has an exceptional pedigree and lots of titled dogs that she has titled.
