I have a question for the board. I am here visiting my cousins for the weekend and she has a three dogs..a female 8 year old spayed Boxer, an intacted female GSD (my male's sister), and a neutered 3 year old male Min Pin. Now all the dogs get along well BUT my five year old male GSD is obsessed with her Boxer. I mean obsessed. He will NOT stop humping her... To me it does NOT seem like a dominant issue..He truly seems to be aroused by her for some reason. He acts like she is a bitch in season. He does not bother his sister who is intact (unless she's in season). Why would my male be that interested in an eight year old spayed Boxer? Is he just weird? (that last question is retorical lol )
Maybe he really likes the way she smiles, it could be that really great doggie perfume, or those big buggy eyes....
This is one of the times I wish they could talk to us so we could ask "dude, what is your malfunction?"
Maybe he heard she was snipped and knows he won't have to support the pups. Safe sex?
I've always wondered about the "love at first sight" thing that seems to go on with some dogs.
I had a old elkhound/husky x that had a kind of crusty "sniff my butt and I''ll remove your nose" attitude with all dogs, with the exception to my roommates Malamute male. You would never guess that old Quini was spayed if you saw the antics.
One of my roomates Malamute bitches picked as her object of adoration a 38 pound little male siberian and would terrorize him with romantic overtures.
