Lori I was not trying to be rude about that. I was just asking. You might tell them to pick up some crates also and only one dog is allowed out at any given time. Feeding together or seperate?, toys out?(this is what created the most problems for me with fights) It can even happen from a simple, dogs being on a couch. This creates territorial issues. I've seen this happen also. Same with the bed.
Dogs need to be on line while in the house around each other. Any signs of aggresion they need a firm correction.
I did not think your post was rude. However, I have told them all of the standard crate, seperation stuff.
The problem is I live in Atlanta and they live in Dallas. They are a couple that needs to have someone physically in front of them helping them. I cannot provide the hands on instruction.
The post was not for me seeking advice on training, it was asking for a trainer recommendation for the Dallas Area.
Preferably a trainer with a similar philosophy as most of us on this board.
I would be interestd in hearing recommendations on a trainer in Dallas as well, please. The only one I managed to find suggested breaking up fights between my Aussie girls was using a shaker can. That was after I explained to her that these dogs had managed to cause severe enough injuries to require sutures/splinting (one dog ended up with a fractured leg from a bite.) Shaker can, indeed!
Has anyone heard of these people? I have seen their sign on the way home from work every morning? Just curious if this could help: http://www.canineworkshop.net
