My Sister n law is undergoing some surgery and I am going to babysit there dog for a extended time , due to the nature of the surgery.
There dog is actually the brother to our dog which is 10 months old.
They have seen each other and played together but have never lived together. My dog is fully housebroken and there is also.
However , I am leary about leaving them alone together uncrated... I dont think it is fair to crate my dog when she does so good but then i hate the idea of crating her brother and not her....creating resentment or something.
My suggestion would be to crate both dogs with no "apologetic" attitude. Go about it as if "this is how we are doing things for now" and make sure both dogs get exercise and attention separately.
The LAST thing you or your sister needs is to worry about an issue arrising which could be so easily prevented.
Nice of you to help out your sister during this time.
