Well it seems like the bonding is coming along!
Kaiser and I take our daily walk-a little over 1 1/2 misles broken up throughout the day- and when he gets out to the end of his flexi-leash he looks back at me and slows down to wait for me. He does this our entire walk. He doesn't pull or tug on the leash, but he does occasionally put the leash in his mouth and wants to play tug-of-war! I am trying to disuade this behavior now before it becomes a real problem. He usually just drops it when I say "no" or "drop" and then I say "YES" and treat!!
Marker training is really coming along!! He knows "look" to look me in the eye, "sit", "down", "come","out" to give me his toy back, and "yuck"/ "drop" to spit out whatever he just put into his mouth which could be ANYTHING!! He sits and waits for doors, gates, food, etc. He knows "slow", so as not to pull on the leash or walk too fast.
As for the waggy part- I had to leave him for a while this last Friday, and BOY was he EVER excited to see me!! He even jumped up on me-which he never does!! So, yeah, I guess it's coming along!!
Thanks to all for their input and I look forward to more "chats" on here!
