My daughter's soon to be sister in law has a German Shepherd pup ... maybe like 9 or 10 months old ... and she is thinking of getting rid of it. She has no clue on how to train it. My daughter has heard me talk so much about this site, so asked me of rescues or how to put it up for adoption to those who are into German Shepherds. Trust me, I'd take it in a heart beat if I didn't have an insane JRT that is already way too much work and passionately hates other animals.
Does anyone in the state of Florida, particularly the Tampa Bay area, have a suggestion for me?

Hi Chris,
If she has no clue how to train him, she'll have no clue how to find a qualified home. I would suggest she turn the dog over to the GSD rescue. This is still a pup and they have people more skilled at placing in a good home.

Have they talked to the breeder? My last litter is about that age and I just did a mental checklist on if any of my pup went to that area.....<eek> They didn't but there are two owners I'm going to be checking in with today to make sure the pup is still with them and that they haven't moved in the last month.
First of all ask them to contact the breeder.
There are a lot of resources in the Tampa Bay area and I do know of a couple of people that title working line dogs and would be able to assist them if they are having a hard time with the butt head supreme time.
And if they do insist on rehoming the dog please make sure someone educates them on the terrible things that can happen to one of these dogs if the new home is not screened properly. If they need help in screening, let me know and I will be more then happy to help them via phone.
