Ok per suggestions, which I'm very thankful for, we are buying a crate today. When I went to the pet store they didn't have any large cages so I started looking on line and which one is actually best for a shepherd? There is folding and then ones that do not fold up. Is there any real difference?
Second question do I buy large or xlarge or xxlarge? I can't see the cage before buying so suggestions and thoughts are a good thing. She is weighing in at 60lbs now! Yippie Yeah! When we got her she was only at 52lbs. And she is now 15mo's old! she is gaining weight! Yeah!
and I have to say my girl has been going crazy the past couple of nights out of control barking growing and all at what appeared to be nothing and well late last night we figured out what it is. The coyotes are back! Urgggg.

different brands have different dimensions. Measure your dog standing up and lying down--then select a crate that allows her enough room to stand and lie down comfortably. It doesn't need to be any larger than that.
The folding kind make it easy to transport--if that is a consideration for you. Probably more important is to note the position of the door(s) on the crate to see they are convenient based on where you will place the crate.
