Hello, everyone. I've been hanging around the Leerburg forum for some time and decided it was time to officially join. It seems like there is a wealth of experience among the forum members, and I've already learned a few things and I expect to learn much, much more. I'm looking forward to asking a few questions directly and maybe even contributing with an answer if it's something I'm familiar with.
I'm a lifelong dog lover and dog owner. Our family had a few mixed breeds when I was a kid. In my twenties, I had a Golden Retriever. For the past 25 years or so, though, my husband and I have owned Dobermans, exclusively. We currently have two, a three-and-a-half-year-old female named Natasha whom we acquired as a rescue when she was about a year old, and a two-and-a-half-year-old male named Logan, whom we acquired when he was seven weeks old.
Even though I've owned dogs most of my life, I have never competed with them until now. I've shown horses previously, but never dogs. I'm no spring chicken, but I'm testing the waters, starting with Rally, which I've been doing most of this year, and hoping to move on to Obedience and maybe even Agility or Tracking, just wherever the path leads us as we find out what we're good at.
Sorry about not posting a picture. I hope to be able to come back and do that in the future, when I figure out how. I work all day long with computers, but it mostly amounts to word-processing, and I am very unfamiliar with sharing pictures, etc.
