I have no problem with anything like that Cneilson, if it works. As long as someone's not putting themselves in danger with the law or hurting dogs unnecessarily then that's fine to use what you mentioned.
We have concealed carry available in my state but when one has to use that even in a proper situation sometimes it can be legally hectic, if there's anyway to get around using something like that then I would recommend doing it with something else, such as the pepper spray. (There's alot of kids in those parks)
As for myself I have several guns but I try not to carry them because I might accidently decide to hit drivers on the road rather than dogs. (Especially in big city traffic) LMAO <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
When our department started carrying OC spray part of the "training" was to get sprayed with it. After that I spent the next 20 minutes with a hose blasting in my face just to releive the burning. I can't believe that a dog would not have the same reaction. The only question would be whether it would stop it or make it more aggressive. Our K-9 units used OC spray very little due to the fact that it did effect one of the dogs after an arrest. Just my experiences but still no clear cut answer.
When I walk with my dogs, I carry a can of wasp spray. I have a friend that used to be a meter reader and he found it really good. Longer spray, more concentrated and you can be very accurate with it. I have a dog with degenerative myelopathy and walk he alot. We have a lot of dogs running free, even with a leash law. If my dog attacks a law breaking dog, while on lead, he can be classified as vicious and put down. Great town, huh. You don't have to worry quite as much about getting yourself or your own dog with wasp spray, and how can it be illegal to carry? No personal experience, thank God. But an idea to try. Cathy
