Oh I see, I am sorry Sharon, I was referring to the cow mat/stall mat. real heavy duty stuff. I feel bad for the UPS person bringing it to the door is so heavy, and for me it is worst. Thanks Barbara for putting me on track. I will be going wall to wall in the house, and also on the porch, maybe I leave the next six feet nature's grass. Dan

I find using a pair of vise grips (or two of them) making dragging these darn mats MUCH easier.
Barbara.... how have I not thought of that?! I've had horses for over 20 years now, and have spent the whole time dragging stall mats around by hand, trying to roll them with the tractor (fail) and trying to heave them onto the top of a golf cart for long-distance (across the farm) moving (also fail).
Vise grips would have made that SOOOOOO much simpler! I'm ALMOST looking forward to the next time I feel the need to strip the stall mats out and wash the floor! Thank you!!

I have had surgery on both wrists and they still squawk from time to time, so I'm ALL about "working smart" not "working hard". I admit - I LOVE being able to handle those damn mats without asking for help...
This subject just caught my eye - I have a 6 X 12 kennel and I use rubber stall matts and on top of that I use wood pellet horse bedding. In the summer I rake it down and wet it so it puffs up into kind of a sawdust material.. In warm weather I don't have to change but once every 4 weeks. In damp weather I don't wet it down. Just rake it out and when the dog urinates you will get littl piles of sawdust which you can stir around. When it dries it will reabsorbe. I pay around $6 for a 35# bag and use 2 bags. This has really worked well. When you take up the old bedding just disinfect the matt and then put new bedding down. Works great and dog stays clean. If you can't find horse bedding usually sold at feed stores you can also use pellet stove pellets - the same thing only bigger pieces.
Barbara Inman, that's what I'm talking about, Glad it caught your ayes. I will go hunting for those wood pellet or stove pellet, for my dogs bedding and hanging out. Dan
