It has been many years since I had a puppy but I do recall the shark attacks as if they were yesterday. I was never very successful at the redirect because I think the squealing which he induced from my kids was so much more rewarding. However; always having a leash on him and attaching him to a door knob and walking away when the teeth came out soon taught him self control. At 6 months the attacks were few and far between and correctable with an "uh" sound.
I'm trying various approaches little by little and seeing what works. We played a lot today, but the little runt is still pretty pumped. You guys have awesome dogs. I can't imagine how big Max is going to get but I'm plenty excited.
