Connie was taught heeling using Michael Ellis method from the Heeling DVD: luring along the wall, focus taught separately, leash pressure. We haven't done any rear end work on touchpads (I wonder why???) but her turns were kind of OK
I use STAY command with her in the video but she knows the system and would wait for the marker to be released. Shouldn't be using STAY anymore, it's one of those old things from before Leerburg.

For me speeding up the lure, and making it more of a gesture helped teaching "place" (between my legs), after the quicker gesture worked 95% of the time i started using the cue and started fading the gesture making it quicker and quicker if that makes any sense.
OMG, just came across this amazing video brought to you by the wonderful people of the ... Expert Village! Notice how easily the lady handled that about turn - just pull on the leash, and voila! Heeling DVD - pah!
Those who don't own a standard poodle needn't despair, the cool Village People will surely upload videos for other breeds in the nearest future
I have a little brag. Loki learned the touchpad thing in one session, and he remembered it today, he even knew the command "touch".
I know this really isn't a big deal, but for him it is an accomplishment, tonight we are going to work on moving his rear end and see if he realizes he has one.

Jen, I don't think it is a little thing at all! Yeah! Best of luck on him knowing he has a rear end!! LOL!

That's a great brag!!! Accomplishing anything is excellent!
Ana, you and your dogs are amazing. I can only hope to have heeling like that in the near future. I was hoping to have Conan's semi down before Danni came, but oh well. We tried! I hope it's easier with Danni.
