Since Azure is actually guarding the herd from coyotes and wolves, I would assume it is for the intended purpose of protecting his neck. What an AWESOME looking dog he is... and BIG.
Azure is stunning. (Love the name, as well) I've always had a great deal of respect for the breed. I'd love to have the 'need' to own one someday!
Ingrid- why does she have him wear the traditional collar? Tradition? Or for the intended purpose of protecting the neck?
For the intended purpose of protecting his neck. In the photo with me you can see just one of the huge pastures that he roams with the herd at night. Her area has plenty of wild predators around.
We have put spiked collars on the pyrs....With one of those they are really hard to beat....but with out one..it isn't pretty...at all.
Love this thread!!!!!
