I have an 18 month old rottie. I vaccinated him with a combo shot, no lepto, every three weeks through his first few months with us, from 8 weeks on. He was not to receive any lepto ever since a lot in his line had had sever reactions to it. At 6 months, I went to the vet for the parvo booster. Long story short, she gave a 5 way instead, with the lepto shot in it anyway. She was fired on the spot, but the puppy already had a big combo shot he didn't need at all.
After finding this site a few months back, I ordered the Shock to the System book and have been reading it and reading more I can find online, talking to the lady at the store where I buy food, etc.
I don't want to vaccinate anymore, but I am wondering what damage may have already been done? If he needs a healthy immune system to fight off diseases "naturally" if I don't vaccinate anymore, how do I know that he doens't already have a damaged immune system from all the shots he has already received, and maybe he won't be able to fight off those diseases?
Second question is this. They say in the book that a dog vaccinated after 6 months old, will generally have immunity for 7-15 years. he was vaccinated at 6 months and 6 days, so I wonder if he has immunity already no matter what I would do.
I know that the homeopathic remedy Thuja is often used to detox after vaccines, and that there are some herbal remedies which help to boost the immune system.
But the most important is healthy food, avoiding fleas which can be the major trigger for allergies, lots of sunshine and exercise, as well as fish oil and probiotics.
If he has had that many puppy shots I personally would not do anymore other than the required by law rabies vaccine.

I debated: New thread or this one? Obviously decided on this thread.
I have a clear large-font letter signed and dated by me and by the vet inside the charts of my dogs (each dog) that says no vaccines of any type ever administered without my written consent for each and every event.
I have a copy of each, also signed and dated by both of us.
These letters are taped to the inside front cover(s), not buried in the stack of paperwork.
This is something that IMHO I just had to insist on, including that placement where there was no way it could ever not be noticed by anyone doing anything with the dog at the vet's. (That grooming incident -- I would switch vets in a heartbeat, and not quietly).
The horror stories here and elsewhere would shock many people, including dogs left to be groomed(!) and "oh by the way" administered multi vaccines, and including seniors with serious immune disorders vaccinated by a tech during temp-and-weight.
This is something that you can't worry about, because you simply don't know.
My opinion, the dog will be happy and healthy. What do I base this on? Nothing. Really, though, think about how many dogs are over vaccinated every day from puppyhood to the day they die. Yours has had a dose of the puppy shots, and now you have decided to take a minimum vaccination approach.
You've just got to put the past behind you and go from NOW. If you don't see any problems, worrying about what could be lurking years down the road won't help because you just don't know.
