Great topic, especially as it's nine degrees here this morning. I've got a pretty good book for teaching tricks called, "101 Dog Tricks." They sell it here at Leerburg. The author uses marker training, though it's not the same exact method as taught in the Leerburg and Michael Ellis DVDs, but you can easily adapt the instructions given for each trick.
Of course, you don't need a book to teach tricks, but sometimes I just run out of ideas, and this book has, well, 101 of them.
I have found the trick to the tug a jug is big treats...I am using Natural Balance rolls cut into pieces that will just barely slide past the rope part.
