see, when i think of the flop ear dogs like hounds, it seems like the ends of their ears have absolutely no cartilage in the tips. If you feel the tips of flop ear dogs, it's like there's nothing there, just skin.
But with the Artctic type dogs, their ears (tips & all) are thicker because they have more cartilage in there.
Im no scientist but maybe that helps their ears withstand the cold more??? The cartilage is thicker, thus offering a bit more resistance to cold?
Jamie, i wouldn't worry about it. Left outside for extended periods of time might be a problem. But heck, even the tips of my ears are freezing when Tucker and I are done our walk.
