Maybe I just need to complain! I know I only have 2 choices here, but it's making me crazy. In the last few months Kasey's occassional, short-lived, snoring has become more frequent - especially right when we go to bed and he's first falling asleep. I just can't go to sleep when he's snoring.
He's slept in our room since we brought him home at 9 weeks. His crate is in the corner of our closet, and he loves his crate. I leave the door off and he goes in and out several times a night. I know my only two choices are leave things as is and put up with the snoring - grrrrr. Or make him sleep in the spare bedroom, which has no possible space for his crate and he doesn't really like that room - never goes in there on his own. I feel mean kicking him out of our room cause it's not his fault he snores. But I'm also tired of listening to it. My husband sleeps through most anything, so it's mainly my problem!
Have any of you had the same problem and found any good solutions? Doggy breath-right strips? snoring spray? I even have a fan on to try and cover up the noise, but I'd need one of those big hurricane size fans for it to work!
Adjust the way they're sleeping by moving their pillow differently. Or just interupt them and get them to roll over (that's what i do with th people i usually room with at conventions...couple of carefully aimed coins does the trick lol)
My guy yips softly in his sleep sometimes I usually give him a scratch behind the ears, he rolls over and is quiet
Sara (our Pointer) had a bed with a bolster all the way across the back and sides. She snored TERRIBLY, and it would keep me up as well. We'd call her, to make her move, and she'd just get up to come say hi, lay down and go right back to snoring. UGH!
Just last week I switched out Koenig's bed with Sara's, and presto, snoring is 95% gone.
What kind of bedding does Kasey have? Is there anything that could be raising his head above the level of his body? (this seemed to be Sara's issue)

Kelly, I've noticed the same thing with Kasey when his head is raised. He doesn't like blankets or pillows in his crate - he pulls them out. But he does lay with his head on the opening of the crate - the part that is higher than the floor of the crate. Or he lays with his head all crammed up against the side of the crate so his neck is all bent - he likes feel all snuggled in. It's true that he doesn't snore as much when he's sleeping on the floor - during the day when he's just wherever I am, he's not snoring! The only solution would be to take his crate away. Not sure if that's ok to do to him since he's had it since he was born practically! He sleeps in it by choice when we aren't home.
