We're taking a road trip soon and taking the dogs with us. We usually stop for lunch somewhere between Dallas and Texarkana, but still haven't found someplace we wanted to visit again. Looking for recommendations for something just off I30 (or very close to it) with a big enough grassy spot to walk the dogs while we take turns going in for food and bathroom breaks. Fast food is probably easiest.. but somewhere that would do a relatively quick to go that we could eat in the car would be good, too. I know there's always the option of packing a lunch and stopping at a rest area, just looking at options.
For what it's worth- we have stopped twice at the starbucks/whataburger at the intersection of I35 N. & hwy 53 in temple, TX. They have a little grassy area between the parking lot and the access road that has served Jake and Dixon well We saw other folks with there dogs there as well-- no worries though, all on leashes. We plan on stopping there again for breakfast/coffee.
Best Fried chicken I have ever eaten! Check out the various locations. I promise you, this is just to die for, and you will crave it once you have had some! http://www.babeschicken.com/
