Frankly, I don't expect Danke and the cat to *ever* be alone unsupervised.
She's a good dog, but I can never underestimate the ability of a six year old boy to push her to her limits of tolerance and goodwill, so she's very rarely unsupervised in the house.
I just want to avoid any potential issues down the road that we haven't already thought of. Taking extra care to keep the cat's nails trimmed is a good one. It only takes one errant swipe, however unlikely, to cause a problem.
I was well on good cat and dog relation untill I put Harley in a box stall to keep him out of the horse feed. The cats now find that it is great to attack the sleeping dog. Can I have a zap collar for cats.
