If you're serious, you're going to have to find experienced, knowledgeable people to train with. It isn't possible to do it on your own.
wasnt implying that i would be trying to do it on my own
James, I can agree with you that in your situation, a PPD would be useful.
I going to give you some advice ( and please remember that I was one of the busiest PPD trainers/ vendor in this entire country for several years ) , I would strongly advise you *not* to consider a pitt for PPD training. Most reputable PPD trainers will try to talk you out of using an off breed, and those that will take your business are most likely out to just take your money.
Please spend some time looking through some of my older posts about what to look for when searching for a dog or trainer in the PPD world, you can save yourself a lot of cash and heartbreak. I'm serious here......
Thanks will, I appologize as we kind of have 2 subjects going here, i was originally intending to ask only about working the pup (and posted in the wrong section..sorrryyy) and it grew into my need for a PPD.. but no, as a PPD, i would only choose a GSD... if i had to choose a terrier, it would be the amstaff, and not the APBT.. big difference, and Amstaffs have shown more promise in Sch anyway. But again, thanks for everyones advice. im goin to speak with the dogs owner some more and see if he really wants to pursue it with this dog. if nothing else, perhaps we can do agility, or tracking if the dog doesnt pan out for bite work. Either way, im going to start the pup the same.
