My dog is GSD 11 month old intact male.Up till now i couldnt ask for a better dog.He has always been great with people and other dogs. For monthes ive been training him in BO and ive been studying alot with the Ellis training methods.Ive watched just about every streaming video there is and have a few of the dvds.I thought he was doing really well until i brought him in to a drop in training class today to work more on distraction training...well he didnt do great but i expected that due to the distractions BUT he growled at the trainer, two dogs and wanted to go through the window as i pulled up to a drive through window.....poor girl taking my order almost had a heart attack!!.
I have never seen him aggressive with people and only my neighbors dog does he not like...hesa socialized alot with dogs on a reg basis and only today have i seen a problem.Soooooo...hes 11 mos and turning into a teenager i guess .....what steps do i take from here and also even though i do as much reward based training as i can i also use a pinch when needed....these trainers i used today FROWN on the pinch and would prefer i dont use it but in cases of aggression what choice do i have?
Thx all!
