Betty--yeah, I have seen his parents. The breeder is only 1 hour away and I have been out there a few times. Both are very nicely sized. You can see them here (Crash and Izzy):
Olivia--it's funny you mention a similarity, because for a week or so around 4 weeks of age, Vader looked a lot like Roger. That was before Vader's body exploded in size!
Katie, Sheila, thanks for the kind words. More pics to come soon...I'll keep updating this thread, I guess?
Phaedra--I noticed that Mali-ness about Faroh too...especially in the B&W pics!

He looks great Ross. He does have a GSD face. Believe it or not, Betty says when she took Danni to the vet for her okay-to-fly checkup, they thought she was a Malinois!
Faroh's own vet said "I thought you were getting a GSD, not a Malinois?" when she first saw him...
No way! Well I guess Mals are getting to be well known if GSDs are being mistaken for them. Or we just have Mali looking GSDs Sometimes Danni DOES remind me of a Malinois...
The general public really doesn't know too much about mals/Belgium Shepherds...they think that anything with pointy ears is a GSD.
But watch out...they are becoming more well-know. Hope the breed doesn't suffer the same fate in the future, as the GSD has.
Ughh....if I had a penny for every time someone calls Vader a GSD I would be rich. There is a t-shirt on cafepress.com that I'm seriously considering buying. It says "I am NOT a German Shepherd!"
That's how I feel when someone calls my grand piano a *baby grand*. I really hate that term.
Ross, I tell people the same thing. I usually say he's a Belgian Shepherd. If I tell them he's a malinois they usually look at me like I have two heads...then they attempt to pronounce it which leads to a whole new set of problems He's not a cookie.... (mallomar)
Yeah someone asked us about our 'little GSD' the other day.
I then told them that he's actually a Belgian Shepherd, and they took that to mean "German Shepherd from Belgium."
I get that a lot with Koenig when telling someone he's not a GSD mix, or a lab/pit mix, whatever bizarre cross they come up with- When I say Dutch Shepherd they seem to think I mean an imported GSD from Holland. Yeah, NO.... lol.
