Matter-of-fact handling, grooming, etc.., is so different from cuddling and snuggling, though ....

But there is no real similarity between procedures of any kind (at least with my dogs, my attitude) and snuggly-face stuff.
JMO. I do get what you're saying, and I do a boatload of desensitizing to procedures of all kinds. You bring up a very important point about almost all young domesticated animals.
My big concern, after reading the intial post, is that the desire to "snuggle" a puppy that does not want to be snuggled, could teach it to do whatever is necessary to get away from/avoid a human grasp. This problem could morph into something much more serious than whether she will snuggle or not.
If this was one of my puppies that I had sent out to someone, I'd be laying down the law right about now. LOL

And one I find marker training to be very helpful in accomplishing! Touching ears, paws, tummies, muzzles, etc...
