Yep, rest assured...Got the point on the gentleleaders and dry dog food from this site, (acquired prong collars yesterday, e-collars ordered today (ty Leerburg Facebook), and my dogs now eat better than I do) I am learning in the process. I did read in one post #174973 the person had one dog on each side, and yes, I've read them all. The pt about putting oneself between their dog(s) and a distraction makes sense, but got me thinking though. I may want to be inbetween my dogs in the event I have to hoist them off the ground and cart them away to a safe area. I would love to have the versatility of "you here, and you over here", then change it up, but I think while were in the learning stages, I should keep it repetitive and consistent. To respond to the points above. These two walk well on a loose leash, the leash is actually draped over the close dogs back. Long story short, and don't cringe ... but when they were 3 mths old, and starting to pull, I fired 2 GL's on them, connected them to each other. Voila, end of pulling, loose leash ever since. Having two littermate male GSD's IS a pain in the butt at times, but I know soon enough we'll be the coolest pack on the block.

Well, my suggestion about the GL was more "starting with flat collar, but one dog at a time."
IMO, it's largely up to you and your circumstances whether they are on one side or one on each side.
"the dogs have yet to be proved 'reliable', when I am walking them," to me, hearkens back to ground work, and ground work is done one on one: you and one dog.
