I don't know much about it. The harboring hosts are cats, I think, but that doesn't mean cats are where humans always (or usually) get it. They can get it from raw meat and I think contaminated produce.
Symptoms .... the infection can be in different body areas and can be acute or chronic. I think that there is usually inappetence and elevated temps. But I've never known anyone whose dog or cat had it.
