If there are any links on the board relating to correlation of the above, specifically in mastiffs, (though not HD, ED prolapse and all the other recognised and scientifically proven conditions) please could someone post them?
I have read a lot of articles on bloat and the debate on that in lines, but was wondering if there are lesser known conditions that have been documented, any articles on Boerboel health that I can print off would be much appreciated.
While not specifically what you asked, I will tell you that as the DNA sequences are worked out in multiple species we are finding more and more that "it is written".
Age at death, cancers, tendency toward certain organ failures, even some mental illness, all of this is known to be inherited now, even in humans who have no planned breedings.
This is the general sort of thing as regards to inherited type of blueprint DNA I have been wondering about, my 2 litter sibs and the youngest pup, who share the same father have died quite young, 3 & 4 years, from different conditions, but who suddendly, and apparently quite without warning, succumed to a succession of ailments that seemed to accelarate into demise at alarming speed, I guess, whilst I am realistic to understand these things may be ultimately out of my control, forewarned could help me recognise tell tale signs that otherwise may be innocuous.
