Missy has been on mostly raw/grain free fror several years now. I originally switched her to raw hoping it would help with seasonal allergy issues. It did and her symptoms all but disappeared for a few years. It was wonderful. Then last year those darn allergies popped up again and it took predisone to get them back under control. She was a bit itchy off and on all fall. Nothing too bad most of the time, but it was an issue.
After another flair up in December, I decided to add in some HK into her diet to see if that somehow made a difference. Perhaps it would add in something that she was lacking. After one 10# box and 10 weeks time (fed a variety of her regular raw, THK Embark and scrambled eggs) she isn't really itchy anymore. Not sure how this will be as we get into the summer, but for right now THK is definitely going to remain part of her diet!!
I have to admit, I originally gulped at the price. But it sure seems to be helping her and that certainly makes it worth budgeting for!

Oh, so glad Mara! I love (well, the dog loves) this food...I use the Sparkle skin supplement too as I heard blue dogs are more predisposed to skin stuff...my previous girl had recurrent MST and I pray not to have another skin dog...
