My 9 month old GSD puppy and I are working place in the house. We use marker training. Currently we are working distance and time. I use the marker to release the dog so "YES" and he runs and get the food or tug.
In the house we marker train with food (though his drive is much higher with a the TUG).
something unexpected started to happen a few days ago. I tell him place and runs and gets in his place. I tell him Good that means stay but you are doing the right thing. I wait a random amount of time (3 sec, 7 sec etc) and say "YES".. But he does not move.. he just stays there until I walk up to him and give him the treat.. I have him on a lead. should I start pulling at him to come get his food? FYI: I don't train with the tug in the house.. I would break way to many things. and I know his drive is much higher with the tug.
