I'm splitting my mastiffs pen so they don't sleep together any more. the pen is part of the living room(was dining room)about 7 x 9, with pond liner attatched to floor. This will give them each 7 x 4 1/2 to sleep and eat in.
I have put in wire doors to each half and am hoping for advice on weather to keep wire mesh between them or should I visually seperate with solid divider. Only have seperated them for a couple nights and seen no problems when seperated or supervised
The thing I'm trying to stop is when bridget is harassing Delilah after they are sent to bed. It looks like t touching.
Some history on them... 3 1/2 years old, half sisters (same stud)
and yes we made the mistake of getting them at the same time(Bridget is 4 days older)
On top of this they spent all their time together, play, eat, outside pen, while walking except during crate training.
Bridget has always been their little pack leader, going before Delilah at doors, taking her toys, chews ( people first ) , when younger Delilaha tested lots but always lost, and since has always taken her place with an almost youthful enthousiam.
they have lost alot of their doggyness in the last year, but we have been treating them more like dogs.
They are both sled pullers after lots of conditioning and training, but its fun time.
I also think some of Bridgets recent pushyness is due to the time I'm spending with my new puppy Pisa(whose pen and bed are closer to the couch)
I do try to always give Bridget attention before doing any thing with the pup.
forgot to add, they are always sent to bed before the pup comes out, or one is on leash with Veronica, the other in bed, or we keep them in kitchen,
and yes they are lap dogs 225lbs of suck, this one is hard to cut back they still are puppies in my mind
I admit still to much free love
