Subject should really be anti tetanus but never mind. Was at the doc today for routine check when he asked what the marks were on my hands.7 month GSD 's teeth! Doc nearly freaked out when he discovered anti tet shots were over 10 years out of date.last done in 1987 and I thought they were for life after a certain number.
Trust everyone else has their anti tet up to date?ten year cover.
Never had a titers for tetanus myself.
Shrug, I just get them when ever I end up at the doctors every 10 or 12 years or so, or however long it takes me to do something stupid enough to put me there.
I actually had some patients die of tetanus when I lived in Africa - it was a *horrible* way to die, and I advise *everyone* to keep that immunization up-to-date!
Having spent most of my life around horses which means old barns, fencing etc....that is one vaccine that I do keep myself up to date on. It is way to easy to get caught on a rust old nail etc, etc, when working around the barn.
Like Randy, If I don't have some kind of mishap that requires stitches at which time the ER will automatically give you one...I ask for one at a check up the docs.
