My lab puppy had his second booster shot yesterday, he is 11 weeks old. He has been real groggy today, pudding poop all day long about 5 times, gassy, and just threw up. Is this normal?
Yes. Just not the regular appetite as usual though. I did talk to them, early this afternoon, and they said to keep an eye on him and if he still the same tomorrow morning to call. But he didn't puke until now.
Vomiting and diarrhea are NOT normal following vaccination. Normal is mild depression, a little sleepy. Most dogs have no reaction at all.
If your puppy is not 100% in attitude by tomorrow morning you need to have him seen. Hopefully he just ate something that has disagreed with him. 11 weeks is a super vulnerable age ----the protection from virus which he got from his dam has about worn off and the protection he's making himself from his vaccines is not
strong yet. Get him checked out if he's not better in the morning.
Thanks everyone for your input. He hasn't vomited at all last night or this morning, only that one time yesterday, one hour after he ate his supper. We fed him small amount of his regular food, and a cup of rice this morning. His poop was a little formed this morning, and has only went that only time this morning. He played this morning but now is sleeping, and wants to sleep in his crate. I'm keeping a close eye on him making sure hes is drinking.
