Hopefully you are still reading. For what it is worth I am of the thought no matter what the breed; all dogs get along until they don't. In other words, well managed they will never have the chance to not get along. That might mean certain toys can't be out while your dog is with others right down to having to be seperated completely at all times. If you are ok with that, the breed is not really that important.
If you can look past the posts you found offensive you will find some great advice; the first that comes to mind is Aaron's which I imagine was probably news to you and could save you lots of heartache down the road.
Also, I am from the Northeast like Anne. Our communication style can be abrasive to someone not familiar with our....shall I say...trenchant wit. And believe it or not Randy hales from these parts too and Steve....well Steve being on the West coast is like a martini in a shot glass...it's just wrong.
Anyway, you can learn a lot here and owning 4 dogs you probably have a lot to offer too. I hope you give it another chance.
She did say “a year or so,” anything can change, maybe she won’t be living in Oklahoma at that time.
Years ago we had a GSD, Dobe, Schnauzer, and Poodle, all males, none altered, no problems. The fun didn’t start until my Father told a friend he’d watch his dog for 6 months {Military duty}. A Fox Terrier, the breed doesn’t matter.
