Jacy my Co-Worker is back to work today and doing well. I just wanted to say I did not want to shed a bad light on bully breeds with this post just stating the facts if it was a labradoodle I would have wrote the post as well.
It was just an eye opener to me to be more aware of my surroundings when dogs are loose cus you just never know. Obviously I think pitbulls and pit mixes can be great dogs (See pic below of my best bud
Having said that I'm not sure if I would adopt another older pit mix, Tenzin has made huge progress since I have had him but I don't know if I ever would or should tust him completely. That could be the case with any dog though that was chained to a tree for the first year of his life with no socialization or training.
I would not change getting him for the world though he forced me to learn more about being a responsible dog owner, I just want to raise my next dog from a pup and build a dog not fix so many problems.

That's great news Brent! Any update of luck on rounding up those offenders?
And I know the pure intent of your post and appreciate it frankly -nothing is gained by burying our heads in the sand on anything that is happening in the dog community.
I know my post was hideously long and sorry if I hijacked your thread by climbing on any kind of soap box.
It's just we're all dog people here and my heart tore a little for your co-worker so I just needed to speak to the criminality that is resulting in these types of attacks.
Hey, don't you owe us another Tenzin pic so we can better check out those amazing markings??
I didn't feel hijacked Hilarie I really enjoyed reading your post!
No luck finding the dogs yet but Animal Control is searching the area everyday and keeping Jacy updated.
I do need to get some picture of Mr.T on here I'm just horrible at taking pictures and want to do him justice A friend of mine is a great photographer were suppose to get together sometime if it ever stops raining here.
