Evidently, in the GSD, what Betty said first is (or might be) significant:

Does that cause cauda equina syndrome in German Shep?
I don't know what I'm talking about, so all I can say is that I saw a couple of mentions of "male German Shepherd Dogs with a lumbosacral transitional vertebra are at greater risk for cauda equina syndrome."

I never know what I'm talking about Connie, some days I fake it better then others.
I know my vet who has a strong German Shepherd practice is not concerned about it and apparently neither is the consulting radiologist. She was associated with the Vet school in Gainsville for some time and also with OFA.
But we know it's there and will monitor it. I have another appointment next week with the vet and I'll ask more questions!
