This is just another reason why short, frequent sessions are ideal.
They aren't always supported in a club format, where we work big blocks of each phase, but at home, on our own time, "commercial break training" really gives the dogs the best chance to learn, as it accommodates the way all vertebrates learn:
-Encounter new experience.
-Contemplate new experience.
-Compare new experience to previous experiences and seek similarities.
-Draw conclusions.
-Formulate plan for future experiences of a similar/same nature.
It also keeps us from strangling them when they can't seem to grasp a concept that seems absurdly simple. And we have these nice lightbulb moments when they so clearly "get it" the next time around, that we can't help but fall in love with them all over again.
