If anyone can offer suggestions... I have a new pup, he's 4 months old, and he'll bark aggressively at anyone. It doesn't matter if they're across the road, in the yard, wherever. His hair stands up. His tail is not tucked. Seems like a defensive response. I discourage him by closing his mouth gently and saying "quiet." I also try to socialize him everywhere. He's great with my family, and I realize he may never outgrow this. I'd like him to be able to meet strangers without looking like he wants to kill them. Any suggestions?
My friend has a pup like this... what a pain in the Arse! Just keep socializing the snot out of him, as he gains confidence and a brain he will calm down a bit.. it took my friends dog about 6 months to "get better" Just keep at it! That's about all I can say... I'm sure there will be more to follow!
Shy Temperment hahah
