Over the past weeks we have been attending private sessions with our local club trainer and I have been reading, reading all the posts here and things are going great. We found that this guy does have confidence, how much to be determined and for what activity to be determined. The exciting part is that he is now eager to learn and initiating action. I so wish I would have video taped him before and now so that others, and as a reminder to self, can see the impact of how we train. Admittedly, I am upset with myself for trying to build on his pre-training, matching the lack of enthusiasm and spending a lot of time reinforcing submission. For whatever reason I bought into a genetic behavior theory for who he is and never really gave him a chance, lesson learned. Clicker marking has been the basis of our success so far! This week working on tug is fun and weave walk.
