I strongly suspect that the only dogs in their database are AKC-recognized breeds, which I'm sure explains why the Dutch Shepherd didn't show up in your results!
......that still doesn't explain Will's results, though. Hey, Will, maybe you should take the test again, 'cause maybe you accidentally checked the wrong box on one or more of the questions!
Pretty interesting little quiz. Mine were ACD at 97% and English Setter 94%, two dogs which seem pretty opposite to me....and Border Terrier, a dog I've never considered.
No chihuahuas were mentioned.....
Yeah, DS's aren't included in anything, including many of the genetic 'what breed is your mix' test.
Enjoy that while you can - I wish Border Collies were that way...
Thats one thing I really appreciate about the breed. At this point, there is not a backyard breeder in every other town. It's getting that way, and purebred DS's are cropping up in shelters across the nation.
So far, the Dutch has escaped the popularity of the BC, GSD, Lab, and many other american favorites. It's still intact as a working breed, and has not been TOO watered down by poor breeding. Yet. The day will come, I'm sure.
Mara, I remember the first time I saw a 'real' BC. Not a fluffy show line dog. I didn't believe it was a Border Collie! It couldn't be! It was leggy, thin, and had short hair! And the eyes.... nothing like I had seen jogging around the conformation ring. Saw the dog work and it all clicked. Yup, thats a real BC, and they were ment to be.
Oh geeze, I got 100% for the Malinois. 99% for the Shepherd and Akita. But... I had quite a few answers that were "Not Important". Hmmm... wonder what that says.
