Betty, there is a concept called community dogs in India. You see, there was a dog with severe wound in the neck running around in my street about a month back. It had maggots in the wound. I called blue cross for help. they came in , got the dog, kept it for a month , got it healed and today they came back and released it in my street again. They even get a signature from me verifying if it has in fact been released. They have this belief that if the dog belongs to a particular street, then it needs to be re released there. I felt so bad for the guy today (he had lost a lot of weight) , I decided to feed him outside my gates every day when I feed my other four inside in house. I have put out a pail of water for him outside. But compared to what my dogs get, he has a bonanza. He gets to eat rats that he can hunt, thrown away chicken bones from the fast food joint, offal from the butcher, every thing on earth is in his menu.
Added later: When they released him, I tried to put some treats for him , once the noose was off, he ran to the tree , took a leak and made a beeline for the dumpster. Atleast he has not forgotten his old habits
Well as far as i know most of people in india don't even understand that we can train dogs too i mean they dono that dogs can be trained that is the level in here it's gonna take another good 10 years for everything to change atleast. no offense if someone see ram training like normally they'll ask what are you doing? they dont even know hes training .
