Thanks so much guys. I did the best I could for him. We had a very loving relationship despite the hardships we faced and I consider myself blessed. I had him on loan from God for thirteen years and now it was time to give him back. There were times it felt like a perpetual honeymoon. I married knowing he was very ill and he lived much longer than anyone had expected. I know he is at peace now. I was very lucky to spend his last conscious moments with him. We had time to say how much we loved each other. This relationship completely changed my life. He made me who I am. He had to fight for every breath since he was a little boy. He had exceptional tenacity and will to overcome and in that he was the ultimate male. I am not just saying this as his eulogy, this is how I have genuinely felt throughout my thirteen years with him all the time.

So very sorry for your loss Lenka, I hope your wee dogs give you comfort and strength,as I am sure they will have been for your husband, I recently sat with a friend who was dying and her little spaniel never left her side, it was hard and poignant to see, but I know she was aware Ebony was at her side and that warm little body gave her great peace.
