I have a14 month old golden which we got as a pup and he is so nervous. He is great around people but shys away from objects and barks at anything even a box.Is there anything to do for the dog to make him used to new things ? we try to show him new things but he just sits in a corner and hides. Please advise me on ways to help him get over his fear
Eric it just sound like the puppy is just getting use to its new home and strange surroundings. I'd just call her to me and play fetch with her and pet her a when she retrieves the ball, stick or toy. Don't make a big deal out of it, don't compare past puppies with this one.
Like some people dogs are different and it takes some dogs time to readjust to the new enviroment.
Some take to new in places alike a duck to water investigating and playing with everything and body. They start ankle biting and running all over the place, they might even try to pull the coffee table cover off the table, and every thing thats on the coffee table. So Eric count your blessing, relax her with distracting play and comforting pets that she did the right thing by ignoring the empty box.
Just remember you could be stuck with "Natasha the Menece", remembering Dennis by the same nick name.
