I just got a dominant dog collar and prong collar in the mail from Leerburg - my question is how best to fit them both since they both should fit in about the same place on the dogs neck.
Does anyone have recommendations about how to fit both collars ?
So it seems the dominant dog collar is sort of under the prong (or maybe up a little higher on the neck - and then the clip goes through both.
Some folks in another thread were talking about DDC vs. Prong corrections. When the leash hook is clipped to both - I suppose the correction is more coming from the prong and it is not possible to correct with the DDC (pulling up) as it would pull on the prong too?
I was trying to picture how to use them both - like when my dog goes cujo barky as we pass another dog on a walk - I think I'd want use the DDC and pull up for a correction to tell him to cut that behavior out - but otherwise - I am using the prong mainly to prevent pulling on walk.

Hi Connie - thanks for the links

I'll play around with it and find a groove
The prong is great for anti-pulling. Have you seen any desensitizing threads here for the Cujo-reactivity? That would be the way I'd want to go.
Lisa - thanks for the link to that double end leash. We are using a similar type of leash that has hooks on either end so you can hook one to each collar and then hold it sort of in the middle (folded)
Connie - I have not found those desensitizing threads yet but will search for them. He is doing better now (we've had him 2 months) where he is relatively chill if dogs are at a distance but if we are walking head on, he has a tendency to go nuts.
He definitely seems more affected by bigger dogs, GSD and Malinois are particularly bad - dunno if he had an incident before we adopted him or if it is an innate response as he is a little guy and maybe gets frightened by larger dogs.
I read up some more - I think with the right training he will respond well.
