I bet that she loves the raw hamburger but I am afraid that it might give her diarrhea. A little bit now and then is ok but her main ration needs to be more balanced, it needs to have minerals like calcium and phosphorus, and vitamins, and it can't be germy -- raw hamburger sometimes has bad germs that a big dog would have no trouble with, but a baby can't handle.
I am NOT a huge fan of commercial dog food in bags, but it is well balanced and it has what your puppy needs to grow this first little while, as she gets used to solid food.
I don't at all want to beat down the O.P. who has come to this lil pup's rescue; this comment is as much for other readers as it is for the O.P.
I'm as big a proponent of natural raw diets as you'll find, but I have said before and will say now that there is nothing good about an unbalanced raw diet. Nothing about rawness magically turns a tragically unbalanced diet into something good for the dog.
A puppy fed a random raw diet (in this case, terribly short on calcium, among other problems) will have permanent damage done to the skeleton, teeth, and internal organs. This is on top of the likely diarrhea that will result from straight muscle meat like that.
A baby dog like this, already at such a disadvantage, is not the dog to learn raw feeding with.
"... i have been feeding her hamburger meat raw ..." No no no.
Please listen to Dr. Betty and the breeders who will see and answer.
I am so glad you posted, and that you are helping this poor baby, who as you know should never have been sold at this age. SHAME on the creep who did this.
re the fleas, buy a flea comb, if you don't already have one, and comb her several times a day. This will quickly pick up any fleas that are remaining unless she's heavily infested.
When you groom her with the comb, fill a cup with water and squirt Windex in it, then flick the fleas from the comb into the Windex water. When you are done, flush the water down the toilet...
