No the thread about the kennel wasn't lies. I havent decided what I'll do with him. He most likely if I do rehome him will go to my folks farm. you people need to calm down and stop being so dramatic. Your not getting the whole picture nor do I think some of you understand a sport dog. Maybe some do and some may also know that when a dog washes out you rehome him somewhere nice and get a better dog if he cant do the work.
End of story..
We told you that he wasn't the dog you were looking for from the get go. We told you to find a club and build contacts and wait. But no, you knew everything and went out and found yourself a pup from a BYB. We told you that wasn't a wise idea. Okay, so now you've had the pup for a couple months and decide he isn't what you want. You have got to be kidding me!!!
Perfect dogs aren't born, they are created through years of work and hundreds of hours of time. I spent over two years training my dog before he certified in SAR. Two years. You've spent a couple of months and decide that you need a different dog because you have ADD and your puppy is too focused on you. And now you want to stick him in a kennel or out on a farm. Oh. My. Word. You get him, become his world, then drop him like a hot potato when you see something else that is shinier.
Trust me, any dog you get will have one issue or another - they aren't machines or robots!! You'll just have a different set of issues to work through. The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.
I have no issue rehoming a dog if needed, but sheesh Nick, give the poor puppy a chance. FWIW, working dogs don't want a place to run. They want a person to belong to and a job to do.
Three months ago you were posting asking how to teach your dog his name and you have the audacity to make a comment that some of us don't understand sport dogs and tell us we don't get the big picture. We get it Nick, trust me. Please send Gambit to the farm... No one thinks that is a bad idea. It is you considering yourself qualified to select another dog with even higher drive than Gambit (his drive was freaking you out not too long ago if you remember) and your attitude of "this one isn't what I had in mind so lemme get another one" which is so highly offensive to many on this forum. However, I have zero expectations that you are capable of self-evaluating and realizing it is you who does not have a clue about raising a stable wl dog.
Keep the juvenile threats about what you would do face to face, to yourself...that type of talk can land you in deep dog feces on the http://www.
Wanna know why Gambit won't engage with the decoy? Cause he's constantly looking over his shoulder at YOU, worried about a correction falling from the sky.
