I took Zane and Radar out to the field for some romp time, since it's been raining so much and exercise has been limited. They had a blast, and I'm very glad I introduced Zane to the e-collar. He responds very appropriately, and even tries to shove his head 'into' the collar when it's in my hand. A very very low setting is all he needs. Perfect!
So anyway, we were wandering around when someone decided to drive their truck through the field. I called the dogs to me and stood off to the side of the trail out of the way, and Radar immediately came and sat near me. Zane on the other hand started coming toward me, saw the car, and headed right for it. Like... RIGHT for the front bumper. The guy wasn't going fast at all, but had to hit the brakes because the dog wasn't stopping. He smashed into the STOPPED truck, stood back up, shook himself off, and then rushed toward the drivers door to see who was inside. The guys in the truck were laughing their asses off and I was about 10 shades redder than a tomato.
Seriously. This dog had that insane intense focus like you see with ball crazy dogs, only he was staring RIGHT at the bumper. WTF?
Thankfully when we're walking on roads he doesn't try to greet trucks!
Wow that would scare/embarrass me!!
I have been taking Zuki on walks down a dirt road and the cars, what few there are,fly by. I have her lose but have never had something like that happen!
